|Summary:||The CAP40 Campaign aims to raise $12,000 to underwrite education and leadership programs for 40 students in 2014/2015.|
LatinoJustice creates leaders – and we have for more than 40 years. Our CAP Leadership Institute (named for founder Cesar A. Perales) provides students with opportunities to learn about and shape the world around them through participation in legal education initiatives, advocacy, volunteerism and social justice activities. From LAWbound and LSAT Prep to the Youth Leadership Network (YLN) and Legal Internships, LatinoJustice provides students with the tools and information they need to become leaders.
The CAP40 Drive will, over a period of 40 days, raise a minimum of $12,000 in individual donations to support the LatinoJustice CAP Leadership Institute's programs and activities. Specifically, funds will be used to provide scholarships and services for 40 CAP Leadership students, covering the cost of their programs, counseling, materials, meals and field trips, including this summer's trip to present at the 50th anniversary of Freedom Summer in Jackson, Mississippi.
Help us ensure that another 40 young Latinos have the opportunity to follow in the footsteps of so many of the LatinoJustice alumni over the past 40 years – people like Deputy NYC Mayor Carol Robles-Roman, Judge Edgardo Ramos and even our own Board members, Will Malpica, Michelle Davila, Maria Fernandez-Williams and Diana Correa. LatinoJustice PRLDEF alumni have successfully joined major law firms, top corporations, government, national nonprofits, and they have helped make positive changes in their communities.
Your gift has the potential to impact not just our Youth Leadership Network and LAWbound student but also the communities each of these young leaders represent. Make a donation today.
