Stop the Frisk: Resources for Stop & Frisk
LatinoJustice PRLDEF along with national and local organizations are combating NYPD's practice of racial profiling. In 2011, the NYCLU reported that 685,724 New Yorkers were stopped. Out of those stopped, young black and Latino men were the target of a hugely disproportionate number of stops. LatinoJustice is committed to providing you with the latest stories and resources so you can stay updated on Stop & Frisk.

En 2011, la organización NYCLU- informó que 685,724 neoyorquinos fueron detenidos. Fuera de las personas detenidas, los jóvenes negros y latinos fueron enormemente desproporcionados en las paradas. - What can you do if you've been stopped and frisked?
1. Record, photograph/document the police activity with pictures or notes. (Smart phones are especially helpful).
2. Refuse a search by stating out loud: "I do not consent to this search!"
3. Remain silent if detained/arrested until an attorney is present.
4. Report police harrassment by taking down the officer's name, badge number and car number - Stop & Frisk in the News
