Make a gift to LatinoJustice this #GivingTuesday

Today is Giving Tuesday and we hope you’ll consider making a gift to LatinoJustice this year.

Make a gift to LatinoJustice. #GivingTuesday

Now, more than ever, LatinoJustice needs your support. With news that Jeff Sessions is the incoming administration’s nominee for U.S. Attorney General, LatinoJustice is gearing up for a greater struggle. Sessions infamously called LatinoJustice an extremist hate group in 2009 during Sonia Sotomayor’s U.S. Supreme Court Justice confirmation process, when citing her service on our Board of Directors. At the time, dozens of allies, like the Hispanic National Bar Association and even then-NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg, publicly defended the longtime civil rights work of LatinoJustice.

Our supporters know who we are and what we do. You all know that because of the work of LatinoJustice, it is possible for Latina wise women like Sonia Sotomayor to have the opportunity to help interpret the laws of this country.

This #GivingTuesday, make a donation to LatinoJustice and help us gear up for one of the most important moments in this country’s history. Not since the civil rights movement’s most critical victories in the 1960s have Latinos and other communities of color been faced with such a potentially retrogressive federal government as the one which will be in place in January 2017.

The community needs LatinoJustice now more than ever –and we need your support to mount our most strategic and powerful defense of civil rights in more than 44 years. Today, we make this promise:

LatinoJustice will use every tool at its disposal to strategically and relentlessly fight for justice and the defense of civil and human rights for all. When the new administration takes effect in January, we will be ready to strategically and forcefully, using every litigation, advocacy, community engagement and legal education tool at our disposal to ensure that justice wins.

To that end, we have launched our Justice 2017 Campaign to raise $50,000 by December 31st. Make your gift today and help us reach our goal by year end.

As you make that gift, please also share your story about how you have fought against hatred or bullying. Post your story on social media, tagging LatinoJustice and using #LJPStories. We will feature some of those stories in the days to come on our social media in a graphic similar to the one on this page. You can visit us on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter throughout the month to see who we are featuring. Help us show the world that we are all committed to Justice in 2017.

Thank you for your support and for your commitment to justice!
