Help Create an Important Resource for Young Latinos
Dear Friends:
Today, even with the first Latina on the Supreme Court, Latinos make up only 4% of the nation’s lawyers. To combat this lag, LatinoJustice PRLDEF is creating the Latino LAWbound Students Institute. The institute is comprised of a series of programs that provide students with comprehensive programming and support to ensure that they complete pre-law coursework and enroll in law school.
Scholars will participate in LSAT prep courses, week-long academies, mock law classes and internships to prepare them for the rigors of the law school admissions process. They will meet with Latino attorneys and judges who can tell them what to expect in law school and show them the wide range of careers they can pursue with a law degree.
We need your help to create this important resource. One way you can help is to support our board member, Fernando Bohorquez, as the 2010 MillerCoors Lider of the Year. If Fernando gets your support, we can be eligible for a $25,000 grant to launch the Latino LAWbound Students Institute.
