Ernie Ceberio is Chief Counsel, Americas for PGIM Real Estate (formerly Prudential Real Estate Investors) where he is responsible for overseeing legal affairs in the United States and Latin America.
While at Prudential, Ernie has held several leadership roles. Most recently, he led the legal teams responsible for two business divisions at Prudential Retirement which provide investment and administration services to retirement plans. He has also served as Deputy Chief Legal Officer for PGIM Real Estate overseeing international legal affairs in Asia, Europe, Latin America and the Middle East.
Before joining Prudential, Ernie worked at Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP where he represented private equity and venture capital fund sponsors and portfolio companies on fund formation, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and corporate governance matters.
Before practicing law, Ernie was selected to be an Urban Fellow, a public policy fellowship that places individuals into New York City government agencies. In this role, he worked on policy issues for the Commissioner’s Office of the Department of Homeless Services.
Ernie is a member of the Board of Directors of LatinoJustice/PRLDEF (formerly the Puerto Rican Legal Defense & Education Fund), a national civil rights organization. He is Chair of the Finance and Investment Committee and is a member of the Executive Committee.
Ernie received a B.A. from Vassar College and a J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley. He is fluent in Spanish.
