David Arroyo is vice president of legal affairs at Scripps Networks, where he manages litigation, intellectual property, employment, bankruptcy, and regulatory matters involving the company’s cable television and broadband media businesses. Scripps Networks owns Food Network, Travel Channel, HGTV, Cooking Channel, DIY Network, and Great American Country Network, along with over 60 website properties.
Before joining Scripps Networks, he practiced as a commercial trial lawyer at a global law firm, and early in his career he clerked for the Honorable James G. Carr, United States District Judge for the Northern District of Ohio. David is a graduate of the University of Michigan Law School, Duke University and Stuyvesant High School. While at the Law School, he served as an Associate and Contributing Editor of the Michigan Law Review. David also has completed a non-degree, executive business management program at UCLA’s Anderson School of Management.
David is chairman of the board of LatinoJustice PRLDEF, formerly known as the Puerto Rican Legal Defense and Education Fund, a 38 year old civil rights and education organization. He also serves on the board of the City Bar Justice Center, the charitable arm of the New York City Bar. He previously served on the boards of the Hispanic National Bar Association, the Williamsburg Collegiate Charter School, and the Association of Corporate Counsel, New York Chapter.
He lives in Brooklyn, New York with his wife and two children.
